Music at Moore and MooreBy Herman Craine We got there at around 12pm and scoped the place out. Moore & Moore has seating inside, a huge space for art galleries and a courtyard outside. The vibe is really cool thanks to the décor; you can sit on an array of couches and enjoy your meal, or have a wander and check out all A duo was playing, so we decided to eat outside and listen to the band.
Farewell Siobny!By Jim Smith
Siobny Cooke was up first. I know that is a bit weird as the night was for her but I was told that she wanted to share a few drinks with friends and relax to watch the other acts. She took it in her stride. I have seen her a few times now and she is getting better and more confident. Lynda Smyth and The Fascinators were up next; I had heard good things about these guys and they did not disappoint. They were confident and smooth, just like my sweet-chilli sauce. Last up was The Ken Pettett Combo. These guys are great muso’s that can turn it on from time to time. This was not the best I have seen them as they were missing the guitar licks of Justine on the night. They did have a fill in guitarist who did however do a great job. All in all… The food was great value and the music was pleasant but a good mix would have made the night that much better. I think the tears I noticed a few people shedding were for the departure of Siobny. |
